Membership applications

Membership is restricted to those who live or work in Gloucestershire, including South Gloucestershire, or within 7 miles thereof, and who have demonstrated a positive contribution to county life in any one of a number of ways, eg by voluntary work, by charitable giving, or by support for or in business, the armed forces including reservists and cadets, sport, education, science, arts and heritage. Membership may also embrace those have brought credit to the county in other ways, including national or international achievements. Membership is limited to 160 together with up to five honorary members of particular standing in the county who the Court may, from time to time, invite to join. Those actively engaged in politics are considered ineligible for membership while actively performing such duties. Applicants for membership must be proposed and seconded by current members and are subsequently considered for approval by the Court, ex-committee if necessary. If you are interested in joining, please read the process description below and complete an application form and forward it to the Clerk, who will submit it to the Warden for consideration in the first instance.
