Our four Interest Groups can be seen as the engine that drives the Honourable Company forward and to this end the Warden chairs a six-monthly meeting of Interest Group Chairs. The Groups provide a focus for much of our activity and are taking an increasing role in running events, notably the Brexit, Business & Banking and event at Renishaw's splendid New Mills site, arranged by the Business Group in February 2017, and two musical events at Gloucester Cathedral courtesy of the Arts & Heritage Group in March and again in July of that year. Group-sponsored events in 2018 included two cultural visits, in May and June to Fairford Church and Rodmarton Manor respectively, arranged by the Arts & Heritage Group. Members will be alerted to all such activities by various means, not least via email.
Pictured immediately below is Chris Pocket, Renishaw's Head of Communications.
Seen above are some of the members listening to Chris's fascinating presentation.
RAF Voyager Flights
In July 2017 the Warden, in his capacity as immediate past Chair of the Armed Forces Group - and by kind permission of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hilier - arranged 3 separate RAF Voyager flights for members of the Honourable Company and their guests. These fortunate individuals were able to witness the RAF's professionalism and expertise in the art of air-to-air refuelling, carried out over the North Sea. Voyager is a modified Airbus A330-200 passenger aircraft and operates from RAF Brize Norton but the picture on home page, and those below, show RAF Typhoons.
