Gloucester Waterways Museum - Trust grant aids match funding

A recent update from the Canal & River Trust’s fundraiser highlighted the benefits of the Honourable Company's Charitable Trust support for the Gloucester Waterways Museum renovation. It ‘played a vital part in leveraging match funding for the project, from Heritage Lottery Fund and the DCMS/Wolfson Foundation Fund’. The fundraiser went on to say that the museum itself is scheduled to close to the public at the end of October 2015, enabling galleries to be remodelled for the following summer. Once work on the museum is complete, from June to December 2016 the Sabrina 5 vessel will be adapted as a classroom. Work has already begun on the design of the floating classroom, striking a balance between creating a modern and flexible learning space and retaining the authentic experience of being on a working boat.
