The Armed Forces Group sponsors annual awards to units of each of the three cadet forces in the Ceremonial County, namely the Sea Cadet Corps, the Army Cadet Force and the RAF Air Cadets, hitherto known as the Air Training Corps. The awards to the units are of £500 each and are given for exceptional work by the unit in its local community.
There is also an individual award for the Best Cadet from all three cadet forces worth £250 presented at the Lord-Lieutenant’s Annual Awards Ceremony and in 2021 it was given to Leading Sea Cadet Mollie Tellis, seen here with the Lord-Lieutenant Mr Edward Gillespie OBE and her proud parents.
