Scarr Bandstand

In spite of intermittent torrential rain, a good crowd enjoyed an afternoon of music and singing by the Glevum Band at Scarr Bandstand in the Forest of Dean on 26 August.  Refreshments were available throughout the afternoon, served by hard-working volunteers who had also spent the morning preparing the site to welcome (and shelter as much as possible) the audience.  This ‘Musical Extravaganza’ was supported by a grant from the HCG Trust.  Alison Collinson, Secretary to the Friends, said ” With the generous help of the Honourable Company of Gloucestershire, our 2023 season has been successful and given a lot of local people access to high-quality arts events that are otherwise unavailable in the Forest of Dean.
