The Friends of Leonard Stanley School

Andrew Tabor, Chair of the Trustees, presented a grant of £1,000 to The Friends of Leonard Stanley School.  They applied for support for urgent structural repairs to the community pool located at Leonard Stanley School, which serves both as an educational facility and a community sports hub.

Carolyn Mills, for the Friends, said “Thanks to the Honourable Company of Gloucestershire Charitable Trust’s generous £1,000 grant, we’ve reached our funding target for vital repairs to our cherished school pool. This facility has been a cornerstone of community life for over 70 years, providing countless children with their first swimming lessons. With this support, the pool is set to be a beacon of health, joy, and togetherness for future generations, and by this time next year, children will be enjoying swimming lessons and looking forward to their summer holidays in the pool.

The Trust’s recognition of the pool’s value to our community has been crucial in preserving this asset for future use. We are immensely grateful for their commitment, which ensures the ongoing benefits of this vital community resource.”
