2023 Gloucestershire Schools’ Christmas Lectures

Published on 2 February 2024

The 12th annual Gloucestershire Schools’ Christmas Lectures, organised so expertly by Patrick Brooke, took place in the Bacon Theatre at Dean Close School on Monday 11th December and were attended by more than 500 children from 18 local schools.  They enjoyed energetic, rousing and fascinating lectures from Ruth Perkins on the The Science of Sound and identical twin brothers Drs Dan and Raph Olaiya on How to survive in Space.

We are very grateful once more for the support of Renishaw plc, Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc and the Royal Society of Chemistry, Bristol and District Branch, without whose generous sponsorship this event would have been impossible to run.  Thanks also to Honourable Company members who greeted busses and shepherded the children to their seats.
