Despite the heavy showers members and their guests enjoyed a very memorable visit to the Jenner Museum in Berkeley. Postponed for over a year it was only fitting that we should eventually make it to the home of the rural GP ,Dr Edward Jenner ,who pioneered one of the most significant discoveries in medical history…and something that we have all benefited from. If you’ve not visited I’d recommend it …so much of the work done there is so relevant in this Covid world. Our visit ended with two talks…one by Owen Gower, the museums director , and Dominic Mellon ,who as the Deputy Director for the SW of the UK Health Security Agency , offered a valuable insight into the current situation.
