Over twenty five of us were transported through time and found ourselves in the home of Gustav Holst … one of Cheltenham’s most famous sons. We heard the story of the occupants of 4 Pittville Terrace (now Clarence Road) from when the house was built -1840- to more recent times when art college students lounged around! The highlight was seeing the piano that Holst used to compose The Planets on … and the warm welcome from the museum’s staff … Laura and Emily. Supper was taken at The New Club, which was very convivial and most enjoyable.
