2024 Apprentice Award Ceremony

Michael Jones, Trustee and also Assistant Warden of the Honourable Company of Gloucestershire, together with Steve Wood, Treasurer, supported by members of the Business Interest Group, present cheques to student apprentices as part of the Honourable Company of Gloucestershire Anne Cadbury Apprentice Award Scheme.

This ceremony marked the second year of the Scheme in which Gloucestershire apprentices are awarded a bursary to purchase equipment to support them in their apprenticeship and help further their career. The second year saw an increase in the number of applications from a cadre of over 1000 apprentices and resulted in a 50% increase in the number of awards.

The ceremony was hosted by Hartpury University and Hartpury College.  Our thanks to Professor Andy Collop, Vice Chancellor and CEO, and Claire Whitworth, Deputy Principle Further Education, for Hartpury University and Hartpury College;  also Julie Tegg, Director of Apprenticeships and Employer Training for Gloucestershire College, for their continued support in selecting apprentices to receive this Award.

Michael Jones explained that the Award Scheme was only in its second year, but already a great success.  It undoubtedly had the potential to expand to all Gloucestershire craft apprentices that meet the criteria.
