At its June meeting the Honourable Company’s Charitable Trust approved a grant of £1,000 to Gloucestershire Nightstop, which provides emergency and temporary volunteer host accommodation to young people 16-25 who are homeless and either sleeping rough, sofa-surfing or in other unsafe situations. The money will be spent on locally identified appropriate accommodation whilst Nightstop supports them to find a suitable alternative. It will also provide advice, support and access to their daystop service, which includes laundry and cooking facilities as well as helping with benefits and engagement with learning and work opportunities for as long as necessary.
The grant was presented by Trustee Mark Hurrell to the Nightstop’s Executive Director, Elaine Pearson-Scott. Elaine told Mark that they have helped nearly 100 young people in Gloucester during the past 12 months.
