Kids Kitchen Collective

The HCG Charitable Trust recently awarded £500 to Kids Kitchen Collective.  They aim to build health and community through cooking delicious family food together. They run stay-and-play style cooking sessions and through these and other activities, such as recipe bags, help young children and their adults explore, enjoy and engage with food and each other. The grant was to help with the costs of providing these family cooking sessions in Matson, Gloucester.

The sessions are designed to be fun, welcoming and inclusive, giving families the opportunities to learn how to cook low-cost healthy, nutritious food from scratch. They choose low-cost recipes that are easy to replicate at home and end each session with a shared lunch for adults and children. The session costs include the ingredients to prepare a meal which is eaten in the session and also provide resources for families to take home.
