Strike A Light

Mark Hurrell visited Strike A Light to present a grant for £1,000 agreed at the HCG Charitable Trust meeting in September.  Arts charity, Strike A Light, was established in 2013 and works with and for communities in Gloucester.  The grant was to support an event in their Schools Programme, which creates an opportunity for Gloucester families to access to high quality national touring work and participation via engagement with primary school children. In a 10-week project national artist Kid Carpet will be joined by a local practitioner at Tredworth school, in Gloucester, to deliver a range of activities linked to the curriculum to encourage resilience and self-confidence.  It is expected to have a strong impact on the wellbeing of parents, children and teachers who are all invited to take part. Three performances will take place in Gloucester Guildhall with invitations specifically to Gloucester schools and families (including Tredworth pupils and Widden Primary School).
