Karen Morgan, Trustee, visited Stroud Earth Community on 13 February to present a £500 grant awarded by the HCG Charitable Trust at their December meeting. She met Kat, Chair of the Stroud Earth Community Trustees, and Vicky during their Friday Community Café at the Trinity Rooms, where many people were enjoying an excellent lunch and good company. The grant will be used to buy food for the Community Café, supplementing food donated from various sources.
Stroud Earth Community Centre focuses on People, Food, and the Environment. They run a food pantry, a youth club, and the weekly ‘pay as you can’ community café. They hire their space to local people to run classes and events, and offer a reduced rate to local non-profit groups. SEC is close to raising £200,000 to take ownership of the Trinity Rooms, which they currently rent from the local church. They have many plans for improving the building once they have ownership
